Mirelurk is a catch-all term for a variety of heavily mutated crustacean or turtle species. Among the first mutants to be encountered, they are tenacious survivors, heavily armoured and extremely deadly for anything too slow to outrun them.

Hunters are a variant of mutated lobster common across New England's coastline, easily distinguished from it's crab-like peers by it's oversized claws, along with an ability to spit acid, large eyes and antennae.

While lacking the tough shell of it's peers, the Hunter is nonetheless a dangerous predator often found mixed in with other Mirelurks as part of a symbiotic chain, hunting away from nests and ambushing unwary prey.
