The elite infantry organisations of the Commonwealth armed forces wear Galahad pattern heavy powered armour. In keeping with US Heavy Infantry doctrine and in contrast to the AxisĀ Schwertruppen, Galahad units are kept small to allow for greater flexibility in deployment to the battlefield. The basic armament of a light machine gun for every soldier is felt to provide adequate firepower, although PRIAM ATRDs are equipped by squads operating where enemy armour is anticipated.
